Below is an in-depth exploration of its features.

1. Display

The OnePlus Nord N30 SE sports a 6.72-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display, offering a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. This large display is perfect for users who enjoy streaming, gaming, and browsing on a big screen. The IPS LCD technology delivers vibrant colors and decent contrast for clear and sharp visuals, even though AMOLED displays may offer deeper blacks and more vivid colors. The 60Hz refresh rate ensures smooth transitions and fluid visuals when browsing, watching videos, or scrolling through social media.

At 450 nits of peak brightness, the display is bright enough for indoor use and performs well outdoors in average lighting conditions. However, it may struggle under direct sunlight in very bright environments. Still, the OnePlus Nord N30 SE provides an immersive and enjoyable viewing experience for users on a budget.

2. Performance

The OnePlus Nord N30 SE is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, a reliable mid-range processor built on a 7nm process. This chipset is designed to handle a wide range of tasks, such as browsing, watching videos, social media, and light gaming. The Dimensity 700 features an octa-core CPU with two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores for power efficiency. This combination ensures that the device can handle everyday tasks efficiently and perform well during multitasking.

Coupled with the 4GB or 6GB of RAM options, the OnePlus Nord N30 SE can handle moderate multitasking, switching between apps and running common applications smoothly. The phone comes with 128GB of internal storage, which is enough to store a good amount of apps, media, and files. Additionally, the phone supports expandable storage via a microSD card, allowing users to increase their storage capacity by up to 1TB, offering flexibility for those who need extra space for their media and files.

The device runs on OxygenOS, OnePlus’ custom user interface built on Android 13, which is known for its smooth and user-friendly interface. OxygenOS provides a near-stock Android experience with added customization options, providing users with features like a clean layout, fast app loading times, and responsive system navigation.

3. Camera System

The OnePlus Nord N30 SE offers a dual-camera system on the back, delivering decent photography options for users who love capturing moments.

• 50MP Primary Camera: The main camera offers a high resolution of 50MP with an f/1.8 aperture. This allows users to capture high-resolution, detailed images in various lighting conditions. The 50MP sensor produces sharp and clear photos with vibrant colors, especially in well-lit environments. This camera is capable of taking crisp, clear shots for social media or general photography. The Nightscape mode enhances low-light photos, though the results may not rival high-end smartphones in terms of noise reduction and detail preservation in darker settings.
• 2MP Depth Sensor: The secondary camera is a 2MP depth sensor, which helps in creating a blurred background effect (bokeh) for portrait shots. This allows users to capture portraits with a professional touch by focusing on the subject and blurring out the background.

On the front, the OnePlus Nord N30 SE houses a 16MP selfie camera. This camera is designed to deliver clear, sharp selfies with decent color reproduction. The AI Beauty mode and HDR capabilities further enhance the quality of selfies, ensuring that users can capture bright, natural-looking images for social media or video calls.

The camera software includes multiple modes, such as HDR, Panorama, and AI Scene Detection, which automatically adjusts the camera settings based on the subject or environment. These modes help users take better pictures effortlessly.

4. Battery Life

The OnePlus Nord N30 SE is equipped with a 5000mAh battery, which is capable of providing excellent battery life for a full day of use, even for heavy users. Whether you’re browsing the web, watching videos, or playing games, the large battery ensures that the device lasts throughout the day without the need for constant recharging.

In terms of charging, the device supports 33W fast charging with SUPERVOOC technology. This ensures that the phone can charge from 0% to 50% in around 30 minutes, which is convenient for users who need to quickly top up their phone during short breaks. While it doesn’t have wireless charging, the inclusion of fast wired charging makes it stand out in the budget segment, ensuring that users don’t have to wait long for the device to power up.

5. Software Experience

The OnePlus Nord N30 SE runs on OxygenOS 13, based on Android 13. OxygenOS is known for being one of the cleanest and most refined custom Android skins. It offers a near-stock Android experience with added features like Smart Shelf, Customizable themes, Dark Mode, and App Cloning, which allows users to run multiple accounts of apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram. Additionally, OxygenOS provides optimized performance, fluid animations, and a responsive system that works well with the phone’s hardware.
